The salary index is not added month by month: the index of the last month is divided by the index of the month before the first.

Which law governs your lease
A lease follows the rule in force on the day it was signed, even if the law changes later. Law 27,551 leases have already ended and Law 27,737 leases end before the end of 2026: almost every lease running today follows Decree 70/2023, which sets no index and no minimum frequency.

How the salary index increase is worked out
Each adjustment multiplies the rent in force by the change in the salary index over the months it covers: the index of the last month divided by the index of the month before the first, just like with CPI.
We use INDEC's general salary index, based October 2016 = 100, which adds the registered private, public and unregistered sectors. We read it from the official INDEC API. By default we use the months of the period itself; INDEC publishes them about two months later, so until then we repeat the latest published change, and you can pick another scenario or change each month. If your lease uses the latest months published on the adjustment date, switch with one tap.
Each increase is rounded to one decimal before it is applied, as the market does, and each adjustment starts from the previous amount.

Because INDEC publishes the salary index about two months after the month it measures. So, for most adjustments, the latest published month is the one two months before, and we project the missing months.
Divide the index of the last month the adjustment uses by the index of the month before the first and multiply the rent by that number. The calculator does it for you with INDEC's data and shows the math of each adjustment.
