Free QR Code Generator

Choose whether your code holds a URL, text, a WhatsApp chat or your Wi-Fi details, type the content and download the QR code as PNG or SVG, with no watermark and no expiry.

Content type

Type the content to see your code.

This code is static: its content can't change after printing. No watermark and no expiry.

What each QR code holds and how to print it

Before you print, it helps to know what's inside your code and what you can change later.

Static or dynamic

This generator creates static codes: the content goes inside the code and can't change after printing. A dynamic code holds an intermediate address, so you can change the destination, but it stops working if that service shuts down.

What each type holds

URL: the full address of a page. Text: a sentence or a detail that can be read without internet access. WhatsApp: your number and an optional message, which open a chat. Wi-Fi: the network name, the password and the security type.

Print sizes

The more content a code holds, the denser it gets and the more room it needs to scan well. Use SVG for print, because it keeps its quality. Before you print the full run, test it with your phone, on paper, from the distance people will scan it.

How the code is generated

The generator turns what you type into a QR code inside your browser, and the preview changes as you type. What you enter isn't sent to any server.

The content is stored inside the code. That's why nothing expires, and also why the code can't be edited once it's printed.

  • No. It's a static code with the content stored inside, so it doesn't depend on a subscription or a service. If it holds a URL and that page goes away, though, the code will open a dead page.

  • No. To change it, generate a new code and print again. If a URL may change, use an address on your own website that you can redirect.

  • SVG, because it scales without losing quality. PNG works for screens and documents. Before you print the full run, test the code on paper with your phone.

  • Yes. Choose Wi-Fi and enter the network name, the password and the security type. Keep in mind that the password is stored in the code, so anyone who scans it can get it.
