WhatsApp Business Appeal Letter
Choose what you see in WhatsApp and you get the official steps for your case and, when an appeal applies, an editable letter with your business's details.
Your number is banned
- Tap Request review in the app.
- If the form asks you for details, paste the letter below.
- Wait for the decision: WhatsApp tells you in a notification, and most reviews are completed within 24 hours.
- If Request review doesn't appear, the ban is final and can't be appealed.
- Don't contact WhatsApp outside the review, since that doesn't speed it up. Each appeal covers one number.
Whatever your case, don't create another account with the same number and don't keep requesting codes.
Meta decides. This tool can't promise that your number will come back.

If the form asks you for details, paste this.
Edit it before you send it: it should say only what's true in your case.
The messages WhatsApp shows and what each one means
These are the messages as WhatsApp shows them. Find yours.
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| This phone number can't use WhatsApp: [phone number]. You can request a review of this number. Most reviews are completed within 24 hours. | Your number is banned and you can request a review in the app. While the ban lasts, you can't reach your chats or your backups. |
| Temporarily banned | This usually comes from an unofficial version of WhatsApp or from scraping. Switch to the official app and stop, or the ban may become permanent. |
| Your account is restricted right now | Your account is restricted. It ends by itself and there's nothing you need to do. You can still write to contacts and groups you've already talked to. |
| Your account may be restricted soon | WhatsApp is warning you that your account could be restricted. If it happens, the restriction ends by itself. |
| Error 368 | This is what the API answers when there's a restriction. The violation is listed in Business Support Home, inside Meta Business Suite, and that's where you request the review. |
How we put the steps and the letter together
Each result follows WhatsApp's and Meta's official pages, linked next to the steps. The letter appears in two cases: a ban with a review option, and a violation on an API account. A temporary ban, a restriction or a verification problem has nothing to appeal.
Meta's pages describe no text box in the review of a banned number, so there you only use the letter if the form asks you for details. On an API account, Meta does ask for supporting details.
Your details stay in your browser and are used only to fill in the letter.
Frequently asked questions
Still have a question?
Message us on WhatsAppWhatsApp says most reviews of a banned number are completed within 24 hours, and a notification in the app tells you the decision. On an API account, a decision typically takes 24 to 48 hours and arrives through Business Manager.
It means the ban is final and can't be appealed. Contacting WhatsApp outside the review doesn't speed anything up.
A new number doesn't reverse the ban on the old one: each appeal covers one number, and only WhatsApp can lift it. Don't create another account with the banned number either.
No. Only WhatsApp can ban or unban a number, so a third party can't lift it, whatever they charge.
